Rebecca Hatton, PsyD
Hello and welcome.
Below are some general policies that help your therapy go more smoothly. Please read through so you can discuss any questions you have with Rebecca at the first meeting.
ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Therapy is most helpful when you attend regularly at least weekly. Interruptions or therapy that starts and stops often stalls and progress is delayed.
I am strongly committed to making my profession accessible and affordable for people who don’t fall into the well-insured or 1% groups. I never want my fees to be a hardship for therapy partners. I will continue to make many allowances. The following is my attendance policy:
- Two business days notice are required to cancel a regularly scheduled appointment. This means, for example, that a Monday appointment must be canceled by the same time the previous Thursday. If unforeseen events interfere, an in-person appointment can often be changed to zoom or a phone call, even at the last minute. The only allowance for late cancellation is an illness or injury that makes participation impossible.
- I strongly encourage appointments missed for any reason to be rescheduled for the same week if my schedule permits.
- A first missed appointment or late cancelation, not rescheduled for the same week, will have a waived fee, but one time only.
- A second missed appointment is usually an indication that therapy is not progressing in a way that is working for you - so, we need to discuss what might be interfering at the next session. A second missed appointment will incur a late cancellation fee of $105 (half my regular fee). Any additional missed appointments thereafter will be charged the full $210 fee.
- Late arrivals also suggest that something important is interfering with therapy. The difference not paid by insurance will be charged for late arrival, in addition to any regular co-pay. We also will discuss what is interfering with prompt attendance.
